TOP FIVE
The top five question’s about the board of Calvary Chapel, Auburn.
#1 QUESTION:
“How are board members brought on to the board?”
ANSWER:
By the recommendation of the pastor and ratification of the board of
directors.
#2 QUESTION:
“What are the responsibilities of the board?”
ANSWER:
The board oversees the major business of the church. They are
responsible for the budget of the church. They oversee the financial
processes. The board ensures the legality of a non-profit
corporation. The board assists the pastor with general counsel and
acts as a check and balance system.
#3 QUESTION
“How often does the board meet?”
ANSWER:
The board schedules four main meetings throughout the year primarily
purposed to over see budgetary issues. However, the board meets many
other times throughout the year to process matters that need the
board’s attention.
#4 QUESTION
“Why is the board of directors not spoken of more often and
publicly?”
ANSWER:
We believe the purpose of the board is to oversee responsibilities
that free the church up to major on ministry and minor on
administration. We believe that the pulpit is a place to equip the
saints with the Word of God. Calvary Auburn’s administrative
structure is similar to that of the leadership in Israel. There is a
“senior” pastor / shepherd (pastor-teacher) along with elders -- who
assisted Moses with material and administrative responsibilities --
and like the Arronic priesthood in Israel, Calvary has a pastoral
staff that oversees spiritual matters in the church family, along
with other lay elders.
#5 QUESTION
“Some churches put their financials in the bulletin, are the
financials assessable and how are they transparent at Calvary?”
ANSWER:
If you are a tithing member at Calvary Auburn, we welcome you to
contact Rosanne Roden at the church office for an appt. to view the
budget of the church. Jim Bobst, the boards secretary, is also
available to assist you with any further issues or questions. They
are available by contacting the church office (530-885-6332).
